The title track’s English name is a question: Can’t You See Me? Its Korean title is a scene: 세계가 불타버린 밤, 우린…, “The night the world burned, we…” That unfinished sentence is the heart of The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY. It’s an album about friends who start to drift apart and hope their time together can last forever.
It’s also the album with the first song written by all five members.
The story: hoping it lasts eternally
ETERNITY is TXT’s second EP and the last part of The Dream Chapter, after STAR and MAGIC. BIGHIT released it on May 18, 2020. Official album introduction
The introduction says the album tells the story of young boys meeting friends who are different yet alike. They struggle with reality, and sometimes rifts appear between them. But the album holds on to their hope that their time together will last eternally.
By then, BIGHIT noted, TXT had already won ten “New Artist” awards.

Can’t You See Me?: the title track

Our take: After two albums of making friends and going on adventures, this is the first time the friendship itself is in danger. The Korean title stops mid-sentence, and the album is about what happens next.
PUMA: the escaped animal
PUMA’s Korean title is 동물원을 빠져나온 퓨마, “The puma that escaped the zoo.” Its video, directed by Guzza (Lumpens), went up on June 4, 2020. The puma comes back later: on TXT’s next full-length album, a song is called What if I had been that PUMA.

Weverse Magazine, HYBE’s own magazine, read ETERNITY as an album about a crack in a friendship that can’t last forever, despite the title. Weverse Magazine: Microhistory of Youth A few of the details it pointed out:
- The teaser for Drama shows SOOBIN feeling isolated from his friends as a table between the members grows longer.
- In the Can’t You See Me? video, the friendship turns sour after the members eat a red fruit, which the magazine linked to the fruit of good and evil.
- The album jacket is built from five pieces that first look like one.
- Fairy of Shampoo remakes a classic by the Korean band Light and Salt.
